I love learning new words

So the word "segway" that I typed below didn't feel right. I knew that I wasn't spelling the word I wanted to use. Well, it was a classic situation... consult a dictionary but you kinda sometimes hafta know how the work is spelled in order to look it up. Well I finally hit a google search that turned up a page that hinted that I may be looking for a word spelled "segue" that's pronounced "seg-way".

Cool eh?

I've not disappeared, I'm just very distracted...

in and out of work. The hours of the day seem to just melt into one another and before I know it, it's time to go to bed. The problem lately is that when I go to bed, my mind is workin' overtime and I can't seem to settle down and sleep. This is making for very short periods of sleep and it's startin' to take a toll. Marie's not been feelin' well and that's a stress too. I won't go into details but I find that very distracting in that when I'm not at work I feel like I'm racin' home to try and relieve her of her parenting duties. I know there are people out there with more to deal with than me this is my blog... they can get their own if they need to talk it out! :)

Anyway, as you may have already seen, Jim and I discussed and decided on our trip route for Capsized Canoe 2007. I'm determined to get t-shirts this time 'round. LOL! Take a look at his blog for details.

Anyone out there do any yoga? I've really been thinkin' about tryin' it out. I think it could help with the physical aspect of the stress I've been feelin'. I'm just a little intimidated by all the moves... downward facing dog - wtf is that and I can't help but think it's a compromising position!

Hey, in my usual m/o I'll jump to another topic with no smooth segway (sp?)... I stumbled across this on-line music site that is based on the Music Genome Project that attempts to map out the "genes" of songs and artists/group and match them up based on hundreds of attibutes. You simple type in a song or artist and it will start to play music that's in the same style as the one you typed in. It's an awsome way to discover artists that you've never heard of! Anyway, check it out at www.pandora.com. You'll have to sign up for an account but opt for the free account with ads... the ads are only in the browser window so if you're like me, the window is not visible (in another tab in firefox) so you aren't affected by the ads. The music is a non-stop stream... it's awesome.

Now I've got to get back to work if I have any hope of leaving on time today.

Take care everyone!
